Affected Rinnai gas storage water heater can be distinguished from other models by all of the following features (also see images below):

1. They have a rectangular shaped casing .
2. They have a stainless steel flue discharge at the top.
3. They have a ‘Rinnai Hotflo gas storage’ logo near the top of the front panel.
4. They have an access door at the base of the front panel.
5. They have a burner flame viewing port at the bottom right hand side of the access door.
6. They have an energy star rating label at the base of the front panel (*colours may fade over time).
7. They have a gas supply inlet at the base of the left hand side panel.
8. The left hand side panel contains labels with the text 'NATURAL GAS' and ‘GAS INLET’ near the bottom.
9. The data-label on the left hand side panel contains Model Code GHF4135N and a Production Code within the following ranges:
   RLN135WPA 221121 257 to RLN135WPA 221121 500 and
   RLN135WPA 221230 001 to RLN135WPA 221230 006
